2009 Grammys Winners + Latino Winners: Juanes + Jaguares Etc
Okay, drum roll please.
Juanes won the Best Latin Pop Album award for La Vida…Es Un Ratico, but didn’t show his hermosisimo face to receive it. Gustavo Santaolalla was there to accept it for him.
Guess Juanes is either tired of receiving awards, or he must be somewhere in Colombia trying to get the narcos to stop the violence. Probably the latter, you can be sure.
At least he did send out a statement of gratitude to the Grammys folks, and dedicated his award to Colombian kidnapping victims.
Jaguares won Best Latin Rock Or Alternative Album for their album 45.
The album Los Extraterrestres brought Wisin y Yandel the Best Latino Urban album, but they didn’t show up to get the award either. They did release a statement afterwards. Are we seeing a pattern here?
Ruben Ramos and The Mexican Revolucion were all smiles, and with Best Tejano Album award for “Viva La Revolucion”, they certainly had reasons to.
Mariachi Divas left the awards show with the Best Regional Mexican Album award for Canciones De Amor. It must be a bummer to have to split royalties with each other!

Comment made on February 9, 2009 at 3:23 pmJose Feliciano has so many Grammys already. So half of the Latino artists didn’t show up? Let see how the Grammy voting board react to this rudeness next year.
