Premio Lo Nuestro 2010 Latino Celebrities: The Complete Red Carpet Fashion Report (Part 1)
Our Premio Lo Nuestro coverage continues. Please click here to read and view our review of the performances and the actual show. Now for the best part…the fashions of Premio Lo Nuestro 2010.
Ah, look, it’s Eiza González wearing a…a…er…dress. Looks like there’s a story to be told on her gown.
We will tell you what happened with it. The dress was originally white, but she wanted to save some money during the recession, so she gave it to her baby sister to wash it in the home laundry, and since baby sister did not know not to mix pinks and grays with white, she came out with this! Since there was so little time left before the awards show, she wore the stained dress anyway, hoping that people would think it was a fashion statement.
Eiza’s dress = FAIL!
Eiza’s hair though is rather nice. Five points, Eiza.
Curly Dave looks quite debonair in his suit. But why does he have a scarf too? The show was in Miami, David B, not New York. He’s so adorable though. So pretty.
We mean no harm, we promise, but doesn’t Thalia look like she’s suffering from some deformity, from this angle.
Ah, that’s much better. Her dress is okay. It’s not dreadful, but neither is it a Red Carpet masterpiece.
Ah, that’s more like it.
Cuban-American TV host Lili Estefan was among the best dressed famosos of the night.
Her choice of pink highlighted her eyes. Nice chandelier earrings, and a gold clutch to match her golden sandals. Burgundy finger nails (she must have gotten a spa manicure just before the show!). Nice overall, Lili.
And look at those legs! With her busy schedule as the co-host of “El Gordo Y La Flaca”, where does she find the time to tone those legs? [in our best TV commercial voice] Maybe she was born with it!
Marisa del Portillo, we’d like to ask you what have we done to deserve the pain you’re causing to our eyes with that green. Especially those of us stricken with asigmatism. Help.
Marisa has such a nice figure, and her make-up was done to perfection. You’d think she would choose a color that compliments her. Next time she needs to choose a dress that does her voluptuous figure some justice. Help! Help!
It’s Ana Isabelle. Her dress looks rather nice on her. What a pretty smile. Later that night, she performed a duet with Cristian Castro. Lovely voices.
Some people are saying that her butt is padded. We hope not. We support natural body parts around here.
Hey, look, it’s Alejandra Espinoza, looking gorgeous, very, very gorgeous in a royal blue gown. The California-born, Mexican beauty queen carries herself with grace and style on the red carpet. The Nuestra Belleza Latina 2007 winner is doing well for herself, thank you very much.
Why, it’s Ana María Canseco! Uh, no, it’s actually
Now for the real Ana María Canseco! [thanks readers!] Isn’t she gorgeous in this gray gown. It’s not too matronly, but it’s not too sex kitten-ish either. Just the right vibe. We know we’re not alone in looking forward to her smile every morning when we tune in to see “Despierta América”. Love the dress, querida.
It’s Melissa Marty, the successor of Alejandra Espinoza, wearing an elegant gown, that catapults her among the best-dressed of teh night. What’s that you’re hiding behind you, Melissa?
Apparently, a big fat Latina bootie! Usually, we are against the women wearing black at awards shows, but Ms. Melissa Marty wears her black so well!
¡Mira! It’s Claudia Molina. At first glance, we weren’t sure we liked her dress, but we’ve decided that we do like it. It’s not one of the best, but it’s definitely not hideous. Great look, mami.
Look, it’s Univision chef Maggie Jiménez. Let’s see what she has cooked up, fashion-wise. Now, did Maggie really need those fringes at the end of that gown? She practically ruined a perfectly nice dress. Now, what could have motivated her NOT to cut off those fringes?
Could it be that she wanted to help the cleaning crew sweep the American Airlines arena while the show was going on, so that they would have less to do after the show? How compassionate of Maggie!
Diana Reyes is so motherly. She couldn’t help but bring her dog Jalapeno with her on the red carpet. We couldn’t fully view the dress, and therefore are unable to give you a fashion verdict on it at this time.
Ana Carolina da Fonseca gave photographers one of her best angles. A lot of people will forever think of her as Celeste in Te Amaré en Silencio. Do you?
It’s La Diva de la Banda and serial troublemaker Jenni Rivera and her fiancée. We have to admit to ourselves that they make a rather cute couple. We hope that they will actually get married, and not start that on-again, off-again pattern that their tumultuous relationship is so famous for.
Ilia Calderon looks good with a matching purse, but what’s up with her neck, and those veins? And why does she looks so mean, like she hasn’t gotten a hug in a very, very long time.
Ah, that’s better. That’s more like the Ilia, we’ve come to know and love.
Jaqueline Bracamontes was among the presenters for the night. Here she is posing with Flizola, the talented designer. Is that your new man, Jacky?
Niurka Marcos tries to be outrageous and original all the time. Outrageously bad and originally hideous, we might add. As if that ballerina bride outfit wasn’t bad enough, she had to accentuate it with those flapper beads. She and her man Eduardo Antonio make such a perfect couple on the Red Carpet. Perfectly monstrous!
Did someone send them a memo—that only went to her and her man—that this year’s award was going to have a Frankenstein theme?
Nelly Furtado looks absolutely gorgeous. Her dress is simple but elegant. Those earrings emphasize her oblong-shaped face perfectly.
Paulina Rubio on the red carpet. Now, what’s with that hem? Was she wanting to assist Maggie Jimenez with the arena floor sweeping? Her hair looks nice though; well pomaded and curled.
Rey Ruiz and his novia were on the red carpet. What an ugly dress, that’s all we have to say. Is it us or does she look pregnant? Pregnancy is the only excuse for her to be wearing such a hideous dress, as the maternity clothing industry does not exactly allow a woman with too much choices.
Elizabeth Lopez, we’d like to make an appointment with you to discuss better dressing choices at the next Red Carpet event that you attend. Stat. Is all that appliqué, leftovers from your Tia Consuelo’s sewing hobby? At least your curls stayed intact.
Maria Elena Salinas looked nice in her red dress, with a red matching purse. Her smile doesn’t look very authentic though. Like she’s had Botox or something.
Kika Rocha and Rodner Figueroa made a nice pair. Rodner is so handsome, and Kika’s red dress looks very, very well on her. And their smiles! You can always tell when a couple is for real and happy.
Giselle Blondet carried hers very well, and we have to admit that she looked quite good.
Something is quite not right about that smile of hers, though! We just can’t place our fingers on what!
Without a doubt, Ana Barbara was one of the best—very best—dressed of the night. There used to be a time when we used to hear people say that her face look like it was crushed under a natural disaster rubble, but she’s been looking awesomely well lately. Maybe she’s one of those people who look better with time. Is it the hair? Her style is impeccable. So gorgeous! Go, Ana Barbara! You look great, mami.
Between her, Melissa Marty, Lili Estefan, we’re not sure who looks the best!
Neida Sandoval was on the alfombra roja. Is that a little belly that we see there? Is there a little Neida in the oven?
Gloria Ordaz looked fairly nice in her gown, although it did remind us of a matron of honor dress at some wedding or something.
And Judith Grace in a royal blue dress that makes her look a little too matronly. We have to ask: is she pregnant?
Melina Leon came with Greek-styled dress and some Egyptian-inspired bangles. At least the hot pink she wore did not have the same effect as the green that Marisa del Portillo wore.
Ah, the lovely and gorgeous Barbara Bermudo in eye-catching green.

And Natalia Jimenez…she has an identity all her own now. What a nice dress. It is clearly inspired by the 1950s era.
Felipe Viel and his date turned heads on the red carpet. Her red dress was nice. But that weave was a little too much!
Marjorie de Sousa wore royal blue like a lot of the attendees. Now, doesn’t that dress look she grabbed it from the clearance rack at Ross? Marjorie, you should have left the discounted dresses for poor folks like us!
