Producer Quincy Jones recently remade the We Are the World the 25th Anniversary version. Not to be outdone, Cuban diva Gloria Estefan is gathering a bunch of Latino artists to do her own version…en Español—of course.
Who’s signed up? So far, Gloria La Diva has approached Ricky Martin, Paulina Rubio, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias (who was part of the English version).
Gloria has already had the song translated, and titled it “Somos El Mundo”. It’s only a matter of time before it’s actually recorded.
We have to say that we’re really looking forward to this one. Gloria and her husband Emilio helped Shakira do bilingual albums when she set out to conquer the English-speaking market, so we can imagine that this song is going to be something great to look forward to.
