Yeni and her beloved husband Bonescito were spotted jetting out of Miami. Just what business brought them there? I’m sure the fact that they have a financial stake in the football team The Miami Dolphins isn’t reason enough.

According to folks, Bonescito and Yenny were visiting the Sunshine State to put the finishing touches on a real estate transaction. They now own a luxury condo at the exclusive Icon South Beach Penthouse, spearheaded by developer Phillipe Starck. Thanks to the real estate bust, though, the condos were slow in selling, so folks are thinking that J.Lo and Bones probably got themselves a freebee.

Miami Herald columnist Lesley Abramavel thinks she knows the reason.

Clearly the couple has a thing for Philippe Starck, but rumor has it that developer Jorge Perez has more of a thing for having celebrity residents to boost sales of the troubled building and there may be some incentive stuff going on in this supposed deal.

The couple were seen schmoozing with Perez at the Viceroy at Icon Brickell several months ago.

Oh, if only I were rich and famous like those two and could get myself a crib gratis.

Juanes’s much-discussed concert in Cuba took place without a hitch, despite the fact that there were plenty of folks who opposed his musical initiative.

Miguel Bosé as well as Juanes actually started crying right before the concert! That’s how moved they were at the fact that Juanes’s dream had come true. That, and the stress of putting such a milestone of a show.

Elizabeth Gutiérrez finally admitted to the public that she was in fact pregnant with William Levy’s child. Oh, I can hear the unison of hearts that are broken around the globe.

So, this is how Latino Celebrity Week was! And what a week it was.

Many people thought it was impossible, but over the weekend Juanes made his Cuban concert a reality. Check out the footage below of the Colombian rockero singing “La Camisa Negra” to one-million-plus fans in Cuba.

Has Juanes started a trend? The Colombiano has plans to have a concert in Cuba in September, despite opposition from many.

Now we’ve learned that Guatemalteco Ricardo Ajorna is going to hold his own concert. According to La Jornada, the hit singer is going to hold his concerts in January 2010, less than six months after Juanes’s planned concert in Cuba.

Juanes not too long ago announced his plans to do a concert in Cuba. This announcement was met with all kinds of comments and raised eyebrows. The Colombian rocker has chosen to respond to naysayers.

As for those who are accusing him of using the concert to create publicity himself, he shot back:

“¿Publicidad de qué? Yo sabía que esto iba a pasar porque había hablado con algunos amigos a los que les había pasado lo mismo y aunque se ha vuelto una pesadilla, creemos que tiene un sentido.”

And he has some words too to all those who say that he’s being used by the Cuban government and is getting paid major billetes:

“El gobierno de Cuba no está pagando ni un peso, esta idea salió de nosotros y nosotros sacamos el dinero de nuestro propio bolsillo; llamamos a decir que queríamos hacer el concierto y lo vamos a hacer.”

Ooh, I guess Juanes told you all. And the show will go on!

Don’t say you didn’t see coming.

People are verbally attacking Juanes right and left because he’s planning on performing on September 20th with a host of other artists on the isla.

For instance, the Cuban filmmaker Joe Cardona wrote in an article in The Miami Herald:

The concert promises to be nothing more than a shameless, thoughtless and heartless appearance by the 36-year-old singer and his fellow performers. It will be one more tacit legitimization of the hemisphere’s most oppressive 50-year-old dictatorship.

Congress woman Ileana Ros-Lethinen joined in as well telling Miami’s 41 AméricaTeVe:

“Considero que está completamente incorrecto ir a Cuba y dar un concierto porque le da legitimidad al régimen. Yo le dije: ya que vas a ir por lo menos pudieras visitar a las prisiones, a las cárceles, ya que tú le estás haciendo tremendo favor a los hermanos Castro.”

Lastly, Silvio Rodriguez (who reportedly is going to be performing with Juanes) and Cuban artist is expressed his skepticism to a radio station, saying:

“¿Nos dejaría entrar el gobierno cubano como parte del grupo de Juanes?. “Que Juanes haga la prueba y comprobará si el concierto tiene un tinte político o no”

Will it rain on Juanes’s planned concert, come September?

Cuban music fans will be treated to a special concert by Juanes on September 20th at Havana’s Revolution Square.

Isn’t this exciting?

The Colombian rockero’s representatives confirm that Miguel Bose and Olga Tañon will definitely be there while other sources say that Carlos Vives and Enrique Iglesias will be present as well, not to mention Cuban musical legend Silvio Rodrigue to accompany Juanes as part of his Peace Without Borders series of concerts.

Juanes turned 37 years old over the weekend—August 9th to be exact!

We know that three years before he hits the 40-year old mark, he’s already living the life that many dream of: he has a beautiful wife Karen Martinez, three wonderful kids, lots of Grammys, and a lot of respect on the international musical scene.

What more could the Colombian rockero ask for? To see next year perhaps?

Fonseca and Juanes are two of the biggest musicians to come out of Colombia. Juanes has always been the big dawg, until Fonseca came along with a different style, but definitely a little younger.

You’d think there’d be some rivalry between the two musicians, but no, siree. Fonseca has fellow Colombian Shakira on his love radar too.

Fonseca told the Chicago Sun-Times,

“Shakira and Juanes have been so kind and encouraging to me. They have helped to open many doors. About 15 years ago, musicians began looking inside to the typical folk styles of our homeland.

We started fusing our roots with the electric guitar, and it gave our music a special sound. Juanes built his style around guasca [a kind of folk music from the northwest state of Antioquia]. I’ve tried to do the same with vallenato.”

Doesn’t this Latino artist verbal love fest make you feel all tingly?

Colombian rockero Juanes is performing in New York tonight at the The Clearwater Concert: Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders. Are you going to be there? Juanes and his guitar will certainly be, with a bunch of other musicians.

Don’t try to start a fight while you’re waiting in that Madison Square Garden concert line. Now, you know Juanes won’t like that!
