We’re glad that Carmencita’s not in any Genesis Rodriguez-like escandalos, you know where you’re like underage niña and you get seduced by the leading man (cough, cough Mauricio Islas) in a hit telenovela (cough, cough Prisoniera, also starring Gabriela Spanic) that you both are starring in.

Carmen’s dad was acatually a cop in Columbia, so maybe that’s got something to do with it? Anyway, Carmen is Telemundo’s biggest star right now, and she’s aware of it, thank you very much, telling TV Y Novelas magazine:

Is it me or is Telemundo’s telenovela a semi-remake of Salome without the belly dancing and the switcheroo birthin’?

The telenovela seems to be going on and on, but Telemundo viewers aren’t complaining. Maybe it has something to do with the cast: Mauricio Islas, Catherine Siachoque, Lorena Rojas, Lupita Ferrer.

Telemundo seems to have the casting game on lock. Why Univision is always ahead in ratings is a mystery to me. Some Nielsen payola, perhaps?
