Interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle recently, Penélope Cruz couldn’t say enough good things about her director and friend Pedro Almodóvar.
“It is almost like we can read each other’s minds. We can get to the set in the morning and we can look at each other and we know if the other one has slept well or is in a good mood.”
She adds:
“Pedro is somebody so important to me that I just really would never want to disappoint him. He has given me all these amazing opportunities, always characters that I have not done before. He has great imagination to put me into things that you have to be very brave as a director to give your actress.”
If we didn’t know any better, we’d swear Penny had a crush on Pedrito or something!

First the Golden Globes Committee decided that her performance as Carla in the Rob Marshall film deserved a nomination, now the SAG Awards has placed Penny among the nominees for Best Supporting Actress.
