If you liked her in Rubi and Azul tequila, don’t think there’s much of a chance that you will see Bárbara Mori in other telenovelas. She’s just rejected an offer to star in a remake of the telenovela La dueña de tu amor by Nicandro Díaz González, the producer behind Lucero’s comeback vehicle Mañana es para Siempre.

The Uruguay-born Mexican actress prefers to concentrate on films. Her latest is a role as a lovestruck woman in the film La esposa del coronel, which is being directed by Alfonso Pineda Ulloa.

Maybe if Salvador Mejia comes calling with the kind of billetes that were offered to Aracely Arámbula to return to telenovelas for the production Corazón salvaje.

We previously told you about Telenovela super producer Salvador Mejía’s determination to remake Cuna de Lobos the hit telenovela from the 1980s. Rebecca Jones has already been cast as Catalina Creel de Larios.

But would you believe that William Levy and Maite Perroni are being considered for the parts of Leonora Navarro and Gonzalo Vega that Diana Bracho and José Carlos Larios made famous in the hit 1986 version?

So could the two superestrellas become a team again, as they were for Cuidado con el ángel?

So far, Maite is thrilled about the very idea, telling the media:

“Creo que sería una buena oportunidad estar en Cuna de lobos, para seguir aprendiendo, pero yo le dejo siempre las cosas al destino.”

“I think it would be a fabulous opportunity to be a part of Cuna de Lobos, to keep on learning, but I’ve always been the type to leave things to destiny.”

The telenovela El Clon (better known under its original Portuguese name O Clone)has been so popular with the international audience over the years since it was released in 2001, that it was only a matter of time before a refrito would go into production. Of course Telemundo, the network king of refritos was bound to be the network on board!

Mauricio Ochmann and Sandra Echeverria are going to breathe life into the characters of Lucas and Jade, which were played respectively by in the original by Brazilian actors.

They say Hollywood loves a good remake, but really, Hollywood is not alone, because in the land of telenovelas, there’s nothing like a refrito. The refrito of the moment? Cuna de Lobos, a telenovela that was first produced in 1986.

Word is Rebecca Jones is being considered for the role of Catalina Creel de Larios, the role that the veteran Mexican actress María Rubio made famous.

The Mexicana has been doing a lot of theatre lately, among which Entre mujeres, in which co-starred with Jacqueline Andere, another acting big-shot.

For now Becky is merely in hush-hush talks for the role, and says that she’d be part of it, on condition that she gets a decent script, and stellar co-stars, but who would want to turn down the opportunity to work with the great telenovela super producer Salvador Mejía ?

By now you’ve all heard of the reports of Eduardo Yáñez and Christian de la Fuente punching each other out on the set of the Salvador Mejía telenovela Corazón Salvaje f for real while they were supposed to be play-fighting for a scene in the telenovela.

Eduardo admits that there was indeed a heated argument between himself and Christian de la Fuente, but wouldn’t admit to things going down as far as punches.

All I know is that Corazón Salvaje telenova had better be good when it comes states-side.

First there was Eduardo’s supposed romance with Aracely Arámbula on the set; then Christian’s supposed romance of Aracely on the same set. There’s always something going on, or supposedly going on on the set of that telenovela, that it’s a telenovela within a telenovela!

We’ve just learned that actress Angelica Vale has signed with Univision for an exclusive contract.

Of course this is a big coup for Univision. There’s something about Angelica that brings Univision’s ratings higher. Her star quality was instrumental in the popularity of blockbuster telenovelas like Amigas y Rivales, and let’s not forget La Fea Mas Bella.

No word on whether her contract brought her as much billetes as Aracely Arámbula’s contract with Televisa, but you had better believe that Angelica will be well taken care of.

Angelica says:

“Univision has always felt like home and I am thrilled to be joining the network. This is an exciting new chapter in my career and I am sure it is only the beginning of great things to come.”

And from what we’ve heard, things to come will be telenovelas, and other assorted projects that may even have Angelica wearing the producer hat.

Latinas are doing it for themselves, thank you very much.

Are you going to be watching Sortilegio, the telenovela starring William Levy, Jacqueline Bracamontes, and produced by the incomparable superproducer Carla Estrada which begins airing tonight?

Sortilegio, the telenovela tells the story of Alejandro Lombardo a rather fine young man, who after an accident, is confronted by María José, a woman who claims to be his wife.

Only problem is, he doesn’t remember ever marrying her! Little by little he falls in love with her, not realizing that every aspects of his post-accident world (including his the so-called love of his wife) are staged by his half-brother Bruno, in attempt to get the fortune Alejandro’s father left.

Now if that isn’t a titilating plot, I don’t know what is.

But do we care about the plot, really? We just want to see the Papi Chulo Supreme William Levy and his beautiful, well-shaped lips.

And yes, you guessed it correctly. Los exitosos Pérez is actually a refrito of the hit Argentine telenovela Los exitosos Pells.

The telenovela will also star a host of other Latin telenovela veterans like Africa Zavala (why is this girl doing supporting roles after doing Pelegrina?), Paty Díaz (why is she still playing second fiddle when she’s proved time after time that she’s a good actress?), Santiago Ríos, Gastón Ricaud, Pablo Valentín, José Ron, Dalilah Polanco, Marco Méndez, Mauricio Mejía, Ivan Espeche and David Chocarro.
