Uh, oh, looks like there’s some trouble for Antonio Margarito, the boxeo Mexicano! Just a little, not a lot. No, he wasn’t caught wearing women’s clothes like our little amigo Oscar de la Hoya. It’s for something else. His boxing license is suspended until a Feb 10-scheduled trial, and so is his trainer’s trainer license. Antonio was caught with “a plaster-like substance” under his hand straps.
So why is this such a big deal? CONTINUE READING

Not too long ago we expressed our thoughts about the possibility of Charlie’s Angels III not coming out at all because of the feud between Cameron Díaz and Drew Barrymore. But there’s some buena noticia! According to a source,
It sounds like Cam will be getting another chance to fight crime with her gal pals Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore, as a third installment of the “Charlie’s Angels” franchise is on the way.
Barrymore recently told press that she’s looking forward to the project, saying, I’m so into it. They’re hard movies to make, but they’re fun.”
Some smart mujeres that Drew Barrymore and that Cameron Díaz putting business before beef.

The trailer for the upcoming Star Trek movie showed a brief glance of Zoë Saldaña sexily tossing her shirt, so of course some would-be movie goers got all titilated.
The chisme ran that there was going to be some juicy sex scene between Lieutenant Uhura, played by Dominicana actriz Zoë and the new Captain Kirk Chris Pine.
Chris Pine, Zoe’s costar, set the record straight, telling E!:
“It is a different Star Trek, but there’s no crazy sex scene,” Pine told me at the Beverly Hills Hilton poolside soiree. “There may be some bare midriffs, but you know it’s been a long time since the bikini was invented, so I don’t think we’re going to ruffle any feathers.”
Bet alot of hombres out there are more than disappointed at this noticia. We know Zoë is a good girl, so this story sounded suspect from the get-go.

Penélope Cruz in on the promotion trail. The Spaniard was spotted in London doing appearances for her Oscar-nominated role as Maria Elena in Vicky Christina Barcelona.
The odds of Penny winning that Oscar is looking quite slim. Sure she snatched that award for Best Performer at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, but she’s lost the Golden Globe out to Kate Winslet, and how many times have we heard that the Golden Globes are a good predictor of how the Oscar trophies will be distributed. It’s always interesting to read about Latinos in the media. !Mira! Here goes a rather interesting headline. Melody Morales, a half-Dominican, half Puerto Rican muchacha is a person of interest today. Reads the NY Daily News:
A former Hooters girl who says she’s got the right assets - but the wrong accent - is suing the Hawaiian Tropic Zone for crushing her dream of working as one of its bikini-clad beauties.
Melody Morales said she was rejected for a job by a manager at the Times Square restaurant who griped, “You don’t speak white” and “you are ghetto.”
Understandably, Melody a 34-D in size was pissed, saying:
“Not to brag, but I look good in a bikini,” Morales said Tuesday. “I could have done a perfect job there.”
But the world will never know. Of course, Melody is not so “street” that she doesn’t know her rights. She took up her case all the way to the Manhattan court. And we shall see how ghetto you think she is, dear restaurant manager, when you have to cough up some out of court settlement check.
So, um, Hawaiian Tropic Zone how ya like her now, huh? How? [ *ends rant with a homegirl arms crossing pose *]

We love us some Melody Thornton, being that she’s the only Latina member of the Pussycat Dolls that we know of. Looks like we’re not going to be seeing much of her with her traveling all over Europe for the Doll Domination Tour 2009. The Dolls tour recently made a stop in Scotland, where Pussycat Doll domination is a sure thing.

Of her experience in Glasgow Melody said:
“The Scottish crowds are great, but I’m still trying to remember the show, so I was pretty nervous.”
The tour is going to take Melody and the other chicas in the Pussycat Dolls group all over Europe, and they’ll actually be hitting Berlin too in February.
Hope Melody get a break soon, because with fellow Muñeca Nicole Scherzinger rumored to be leaving the group, Melody ought to branch out and up her own hustle.

Yessy graces the cover of the latest Cosmopolitan magazine. Wow, what a cover.

Yessy’s such a Glatina, you just know that that photoshoot was executed with minimal photoshopping. And you thought Eva Mendes had nice magazine covers.

While her counterpart Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted on the move at the Los Angeles airport the other day, Adriana Lima is also making things happen with this cover gracing of DT magazine that reeks with mucho sensualidad.

Rosario Dawson sees good in all the film directors she’s worked with: Spike Lee, Quentin Tarantino, you name ‘em:
I just love seeing myself through their eyes, being directed by them, because there is a particular way they see the world. It’s really fascinating not to just go through the process of trying to put myself into a character’s shoes, but also trying to glean what perspective of storytelling these different directors are coming up with.
She added:
“I like a strong director: I like being directed. I like someone taking me out of my comfort zone and pushing me beyond even what I see as my limits. Basically, it’s working with people who are smarter than me and very talented.”
And you just know she’s a mujer sincera. And not brown nosing ’cause she could use a job.
