Boricua couple Carmelo Anthony and La La Vazquez were at the Red Carpet at the BET Awards on Sunday.

Mariah Carey worked on the video shoot for her latest single “Obsessed” in New York.

Zoe Saldana, your favorite Dominican on a spaceship, was looking quite gorgeous at the BET Awards. That dress though, was definitely questionable.

Writing Michael Jackson 1958-2009 feels so strange. I honestly can’t believe that he is dead, but the newspaper headlines are only too accurate.

Several Latino celebrities have in one way or another reacted to the death of El Rey del Pop, and here’s what they had to say.
Cuban model Vida Guerra twittered:

“Enjoy the moment! Time is priceless R.I.P Michael Jackson.”

Gloria Estefan, herself a star that hit her artistic peak in the 1980s, said,

“Michael Jackson vivirá siempre en mi corazón como inolvidable y eterno.”

Demi Lovato sent combo condolences to the loved ones of actress Farrah Fawcett and Jackson:

“Such a sad day… My prayers are going out to all of the families who lost such inspiring people this week.”

Part-Venezuelan pop star Mariah Carey, who remade one of his songs, I’ll Be There, many years back put out this statement:

“No artist will ever take his place. His star will shine forever. millions of devoted fans throughout the world. I feel blessed to have performed with him several times & to call him my friend.”

El Cuerpo del Deseo actress-singer Lorena Rojas indicated on her Twitter page that this should be a time for everyone to give themselves a self-evaluation:

“Es un dia de reflexión.. Be happy.”

Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra told the media:

“Su música será recordada por siempre”.Michael Jackson fue un artista extraordinario, cantante, bailarín, compositor y productor”.

“Elevo una oración a nuestro Señor para que le dé fortaleza a su familia y a todos sus fanáticos alrededor del mundo.”

Boricua rappero Fat Joe told MTV News:

“This is probably [among] the top three worst days of my life. MJ — you know I’m a gangsta rapper so we always got that hard edge, but at the end of the day, the king is the king. “I can go down the list: there wouldn’t be no Usher, there wouldn’t be no Chris Brown. There wouldn’t be nobody without MJ. There wouldn’t be no Justin. He was just harmony on Earth. I never think MJ ever did anything wrong in his life. He was just a beautiful soul on this earth.”

Interesting how everyone appreciates you once you die!

Let’s see we’ve got a couple of Latinas on television. After losing Roselyn Sanchez on “Without a Trace”, we can still count on Big Television for some Latinness.

In the form of Audrey Plaza who stars in “Parks and Recreation on NBC. The 24-year old Boricua recently sat down with the New York Daily News to discuss her TV career and her Latin roots.

Of Puerto Rico, she said:

“I try to go every summer, because I have family there,” she says. “I love the food and the people.”

Still, that doesn’t mean that she speaks Spanish.

“I wish I was fluent,” she says. “My grandfather came over from Puerto Rico and raised his kids speaking English so that it would be easier for them to assimilate.

“My family speaks to me in Spanish,” she adds, “and I respond in English.”

Of her character Daisy, she says:

“She is the girl among the guys a brunette with a girl-next-door look. Which I find is usually the case with comedy, because the comedy world is very male-dominated.”

Alright, girl, we see you. And we look forward to seeing more of you; and not just on television either.

It has been some time since Mario Cimarro’s marriage with fellow actor Natalia Streignard ended in divorce.

But you better believe that Mario has not been moping around. His girl of the moment? The actress Vanessa Villela, you may remember her as one of his co-stars in El Cuerpo del Deseo. She’s the one who played Don Pedro’s rebellious daughter on the show.

The intensely private actor doesn’t talk much about his private life (we already know all we need to know anyway), but admits that yes, they are a romantic couple.

They’ve actually performed together in Mexico in support of Mario’s musical album.

Hope work and romance work well together!

Narcisco Rodriguez dressed First Lady Michele Obama, and fellow Latino Salma Hayek, and now he has another gig, that of dressing actress Claire Danes for her upcoming wedding.

And you had better believe that our man Narcisco is ready to deliver the goods:

“She’s an extraordinary woman inside and out… you can’t hide it. I just try to make her look more beautiful, and it’s not hard to make her look beautiful.”

Latinos are doing it for themselves, thank you very much.

Ana Claudia Talancón’s career is on the rise. Ana Claudia is going to be co-starring with none other than America Ferrera in the immigration movie The Dry Land.

Our chica is making major progress. ¡Que se prepare Hollywood!

Okay, working moms, here’s something that just might either make you feel better, or love my comrade Jennifer Lopez even more.

The actress-singer told “Entertainment Tonight” that she had some apprehensions about coming back to work on the set of her movie The Back-Up Plan:

“The few days before I got really nervous I was like, what if I forgot how to act?”

But things improved, in a major way:

“I bring the babies to work with me. I love it. Honestly, one of the best days of my life was the first day back working on this film,” she gushes. “I wanted to do this film really badly and bringing my babies with me that first morning, I was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re with me, I’m making a movie, they’re here!’ It’s great having kids on set. It’s the best.”

Gasp! She’s just like the rest of us humans!

Eva Mendes would rather not shop. But another Latina, Mz. Jacqueline Bracamontes is all about fashion: shoes, and pretty purses.

The Las Tontas No Van al Cielo star told InStyle Mexico magazine that she’s practically a shoe collector:

“¡Los amo! De todo tipo, abiertos, cerrados, botas… Aunque no tengo una marca favorita, es lo de menos cuando me gustan. Acabo de hacer limpieza en mi clóset porque ya no cabía nada y tenía 300 pares, me quedé con 150. Había algunos que ya daban vergüenza y otros que nunca me iba a poner”.

And she has another weakness:

“Las bolsas son mi debilidad sobretodo las ediciones especiales. Mis consentidas son las de Gucci y Louis Vuitton. Me acabo de comprar en Milán una bolsa Christian Dior que me hizo ojitos desde Las Vegas. No la compré antes porque me parecía un exceso y cuando la vi en Milán no pude más, ¡me estaba persiguiendo!”

But what will Jackie do with all these fashion finds? Maybe one day she can have a fashion auction like Shakira did with her clothes. Now, that would be putting her compulsive shopping habits to good use!
