Eva Mendes Sounds Off on Growing Up Cuban
If you’re Cuban, you probably have some great memories about growing up in the culture. Eva Mendes does, and her favorite parts were family gatherings.
She said,
“I think it’s one of those things where Cuban people are in it to enjoy life,” she explains. “I was raised in a household where you enjoyed your meals. You sit around and you bond over a meal and you consume. And so I could never be on a diet. I’ve never even tried to be on a diet because they don’t really work overall. A balanced diet works.”
She also pointed out her views on Latin body image:
“I come from an island,” she says. “It’s literally hot there, it’s humid, people dress less, the music, the food, just the whole culture of where I come from is sexy by nature. And the women don’t have to have perfect bodies to feel sexy, they just feel it. They don’t apologize for it.”
Oh, how we wish everything could be like it is on La Isla.
