Has Fast and the Furious 4 Saved Michelle Rodríguez’s Career?
The other day we brought up the subject of how Fast and the Furious 4 seems to be doing a lot for Mayte’s career, and with a little help from Mayte herself.
Not only does she seem to be more mature and somewhat calmer (uh, minus that tantrum in Mexico), but she seems to be on a roll at the box office.
According to Movie Maker magazine, the movie practically stomped on the box office this weekend, with a $72.5 million stash.
Not bad for a flick released in April. Quite a comeback for Mayte. Yeah, it’s an ensemble cast and all, but let’s not forget that Mz. Rodríguez helped get some of that movie audience in the movie theatre too.
And… she has another biggie Avatar coming up this year, and with all those sci-fi fanalocos moviegoers, it will even do better box office-wise than Fast and the Furious 4.
This could be the year of Michelle Rodríguez. Please tell me she’s somewhere with her PR strategist coming up with ways to not mess things up for herself again.
