High School is Named After Oscar de la Hoya
Oscar de la Hoya has many accomplishments to be proud of. Now, he has a high school in Boyle Heights, California named after him.
And not just any high school…a charter high school. De la Hoya gave $1 million dollars to launch the school, which is the first secondary school in the Green Dot Public School District. The boxer gave an additional $3.5 million dollar donation by De La Hoya last year, and the 550 kids who will be attending this school no doubt appreciate Mr. De la Hoya’s generosity.
Nice going for the champ.
He was kind enough to take some time from his schedule to speak during the opening ceremony, and to sign autographs too.
