Is Calle 13 Heading Towards a Breakup?
It’s a question that’s been hanging in the back of our minds, especially since we notice that Residente has been increasing his visibility.
We know we weren’t the only ones who notice that he was the one who accepted the Calle 13 Latin Grammy at the show. And he performed with Ruben Blades as a solo act.
Now, it turns out he (as in Residente) has a bit part in the Walt Becker-directed Walt Disney movie Old Dogs , which also stars Luis Guzman, John Travolta and comedian Robin Williams.
Is he preparing us for a solo career?
Calle 13 fans, you need not panic, it’s not the first time a member of a group does solo projects; but let’s be honest with ourselves; sometimes it’s a precursor of a band’s breakup when one of its members starts to perform independently.

Remember MJ and the Jackson Five…McCartney and John Lennon always had the most face time. Doesn’t mean it will lead to a break-up. Plus it’s always good for group members to do their individual projects to explore possibilities.
