Latino Book Club: Muy Macho: Latino Men Confront Their Manhood by Ray Gonzalez
Someone thought it was going to be a good idea to discuss Latino masculinity, and that someone was Ray Gonzalez who put together Muy Macho: Latino Men Confront Their Manhood by gathering the most widely read Latino male journalists, writers and pundits.
The book is made up of 16 essays, written by men like Dagoberto Gilb and Rudolfo Anaya. This should have been balanced out by having some Latinas voice their thoughts too, but then that would have contradicted the book’s subtitle.
Machismo is of course, a big part of Latin culture, and to read these men decipher things out is really insightful.

I’d like to see a second edition of this.
