Latino Celebrity Week in Review: Luis Miguel + Aracely Arambula + Thalia + Premios Juventud + Selena Gomez + Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony and More!
Believe it or not, Jennifer Lopez turned 40 on July 20th. Yeni still looks good.
Meanwhile her beloved marido Marc Anthony solidified his moguldom by purchasing a considerable stake in the Miami Dolphins.
Earlier this week, the salsero was center stage at Premios Juventud, and actually received the show’s most prestigious award Icono del Mundo. He performed with Natalia Jiménez of the band La Quinta Estación. They sung a ballad called “Recuérdame”, which would he should really have sung with Yeni.
The man of the night however was really Luis Fonsi who got an astounding 13 nominations—the most ever garnered by one artist in the entire history of the show. It’s for his latest album Palabras del Silencio. Wow, were we impressed!
Of course Premios Juventud wasn’t the only exciting thing that happened this week!
It was quite a Latino week. And what a Latino Celebrity week it was!
Juan Gabriel and Isabel Pantoja will actually be performing in Guadalajara, Mexico. What a day it will be.

Hola! México has a new issue in stores and it’s of none other than Luis Miguel with Genoveva Casanova sharing some tender moments; the only thing is that the Mexican singer is supposed to be married to Aracely Arámbula, you know the mother of his two children Miguelito and the recently-arrived-into-the world daughter.
Supposedly Genoveva just happened to be in Spain to attend a wedding, but it does strike us as strange that she and LuisMi just happen to cross paths all the time.
Aracely just signed a lucrative one million dollar contract to return to telenovelas, but it must be bittersweet, surely.
What’s success when the one you love is whoring around with other women, and publicly humiliating you? Pobrecita.
And Thalia, a.k.a Mrs. Tommy Mottola is going to be doing an acoustic follow-up to her last album Lunada. She gave details on her Twitter account, saying:
“Todo el día trabajando, cámaras, vídeo, emociones, historias, lágrimas, risas. Preparándome con ganas, ensayando, practicando, tina, cama, ¡good night!”. “Cuatro horas seguidas de hablar frente a una cámara, jugando con mi reina (su hija Sabrina Sakaë) y preparándome para mi clase de física cuántica.”
Not sure if Thalia hasn’t been wrung dry in terms of creativity, but at least she’s trying to do something different. I think she should stick to writing books and growing her businesses. Leave the music to the younger chicks.
