Latinos Nominated for the 2009 Golden Globes!
The 2009 Golden Globe nominations have been announced, and Latinos are all over that list!
Best Director in a Motion Picture noms go to Sam Mendes who helmed Revolutionary Road.
A Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical nom goes to Javier Bardem for Vicky Christina Barcelona.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series or Musical noms go to America Ferrera for “Ugly Betty”. America is going to be battling it out with Christina Applegate, Debra Messing, Tina Fey, and Mary Louise Parker. If she doesn’t win, she’ll at least have her trophy from last year!
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role: Penelope Cruz, for the Woody Allen film Vicky Christina Barcelona.
In that movie, Penny played a chain-smoking, girl-kissing, wrench, and she got some great reviews and another prestigious award nomination.
Congratulations to them all. If Javier wins, I hope he’s prepared a better get-up than he had last year when he accepted the Oscar for No Country for Old Men.
