Latino Celebs on Magazine Covers Roundup: Ana Serradilla *Benicio del Toro*Bárbara Bermudo*Jenni Rivera *
Ana Serradilla is on the cover of Revista Open. The actriz had a lot to say about her craft:
Los actores somos muy inseguros y siempre tenemos miedo de quedarnos sin trabajo; por eso, a veces tomas lo que te ofrecen. Al principio de tu carrera todos dicen que hagas todo, pero es un grave error. Debes seleccionar muy bien desde el principio.
We actors are really insecure and we’re always afraid of being out-of-work actors; for this sometimes we take whatever’s thrown at us. In the beginning of your career, you have people telling you to do a little bit of everything. In reality though, that’s a huge mistake. You have to be selective from the beginning.
Thanks Ana. Hope some people who are always trying to be all over the place are looking over my shoulder.
Mz. Jenni Rivera wants you to know that she’s hood in the latest issue of People en Espanol.
Oooh, ooh, and about her reaction once she found out the sex tape of her and her man at the time was on the Innanets:
“Me metí en mi clóset en una esquina y lloré y grité y temblé.”
I stood in a little corner in my closet and I cried and yelled, and was trembling all over.
Oh, how dramatic. Sounds like an action line from a telenovela screenplay, no?
And on how she orchrestrated her venganza when she found the persona who leaked her joint:
Next time anyone wants to steal and sell a Jenni Rivera sex tape and circulate on the Internet, won’t you clean up after yourself a little bit better so she won’t track you down?
A month or so ago, it was Rosario Dawson on the cover of Lucky! Now the folks at Lucky Magazine are giving yet another Latina gracing honors, the beautiful and distinguished Camilla Belle.
The recently wed Bárbara Bermudo is the Siempre Mujer cover girl. How about that? She discusses everything from her new relationship to motherhood!
Mz. Yessy is on the cover of the March issue of Elle magazine. Isn’t she pure belleza?
In the pages of the magazine, she rattles off on a little bit of everything. But the most refreshing revelation is about how she lost all that post-partum baby weight gain.
“I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack,” Alba said. “She told me to put an elastic band around my waist — any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, ‘I slept in it.’ I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I don’t have a six-pack — that’s just not my body at all.”
All of us mujeres can breathe a little easier now. That post-baby envidiable figura took a little bit of ayuda. If Yessy ain’t perfect, now we don’t have to be!
Lastly we have Mr. Benicio del Toro on the cover of Latina magazine. Yep, they haven’t given a hombre a chance in a while to be on the cover of your favorite revista, but aren’t you glad that when they did it turned out to be Benny Boy? Because now we can find out further about what goes on in that little cabeza of his.
He had a little somethin’, somethin to say about his sex symbol status:
“I love it. I have no control over it. Thank my mom and my dad and my tailor.”
And about the state of the representation of Latinos in Hollywood:
“It’s not just about Latinos being represented. It’s about whether the movies are good. When I first started, Andy Garcia was breaking through and making us proud, along with Raul Julia and Edward James Olmos. I just follow those steps.”
And quite a smooth camino wouldn’t you say?
