Payless Company is probably the last company you would think that Isabel Toledo would partner up with for a shoe line, (I mean this is the Latina who designed the inaugural gown for the First Lady!) but yes, Isabel is going to be designing a shoe line with them.
Yes, Isabel doesn’t only think about herself and getting a paycheck. She thinks about working class folks and bringing affordable fashions to them!
Hurray for Isabel.
Oh, we forgot to add that Ms. Isabel Toledo is also going to have a handbag line as well. Concerning the shoe line, however, Isabel said:
“Shoes must be flattering and wearable, and I am thrilled to collaborate with Payless to create something new and fresh for all women through my new Payless shoe line.”
Hmm. Interesting. Do you think this means that Isabel might design one with Sofía Vergara in mind? Remember when Sofi was seen wearing those shoes that were much too small for her?

Narcisco Rodriguez dressed First Lady Michele Obama, and fellow Latino Salma Hayek, and now he has another gig, that of dressing actress Claire Danes for her upcoming wedding.
And you had better believe that our man Narcisco is ready to deliver the goods:
“She’s an extraordinary woman inside and out… you can’t hide it. I just try to make her look more beautiful, and it’s not hard to make her look beautiful.”
Latinos are doing it for themselves, thank you very much.

This is what Carolina Herrera has in mind. The venezolana thinks that this lime gown could be it.
And if not, she has also offered this tweed alternative.

Between those two, I definitely prefer the lime gown. Looks so much more elegant and modern, and stylish.
Of course, Carolina’s sketches aren’t the only ones in the running. CONTINUE READING
