Mariah Carey, our Venezuelan queen, was at the New York Film Festival for her film Precious.

Who knew Mariah was so curvy in the back? Wow, she must be on some serious body workout plan.

Her latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel has been released as well, so expect Mariah to be a very, very busy woman in the next few weeks.

Salma Hayek was in Los Angeles, walking into the Jimmy Kimmel Live studios.

Jessica Alba spent some quality time with her daughter Honor Marie Warren.

Aren’t those two nice to look it as they stroll on the luxurious streets of Beverly Hills?

She had to give a semi-tearful speech. It’s definitely awesome for Salma to receive an award named after Latin actor Anthony Quinn. He was a true trailblazer.

No wonder Salma got all teary-eyed.

Here she is again with Antonio Banderas backstage, looking as good as she had on the red carpet earlier.

They really need to be in another movie together those two.

What a passion is Salma Hayek in lavender at the 2009 Alma Awards. Some of you would say the dress is straight purple. Now, what is the deal with that Frida Kahlo hairdo?

Her clutch is cute though. I am convinced that her choice of a necklace was misguided. Sweeping necklaces like that should be reserved for people who have bony necks.

The very-much married Salma Hayek showed that she’s very much a family woman. She spent some quality time with her white-haired marido.

He can’t help but show his yellow teeth…that’s how happy he is to be with such a beauty.

Oh, our Colombian-Mexican is two years away from turning 45.

But she does have a lot of accomplishments to her name.

She was recently nominated for an ALMA Award.

And of course a non-accomplishment that we’ll mention anyway: she is hitched to some rich French dude.

She looks good to us, that Salma. It’ll be years before she’ll need to use her own anti-aging cream.

Oh, Salma, Salma. So beautiful, and not so innocent!

According to Batman and Wild Wild West movie producer Jon Peters, he and the beautiful Colombian/Mexican actress had a little fling some years back.

Peters is writing Studio Head, a tell-all biography and names Salma as one of his past paramours, a statement that Salma denies through an Entertainment Weekly interview saying:

“After several weeks of continued press coverage of Jon Peters’ upcoming book, I want to make something very clear,” Hayek says. “I have never dated nor had a romantic relationship with Mr. Peters. My name has been continually linked to his romantic liaisons, and I want to put a stop to this lie.”

I don’t know Salma. What if he has photos to show?

But, um, update, Salma obviously has nothing to worry about. After being presented with a hefty $700,000 advance from HarperCollins, Peters is actually pulling the plug on his juicy memoir. He told Vanity Fair:

“I have been besieged by potential lawsuits and threatened litigation by some of the most important figures in the world of show business. What’s worse,” Peters wrote, seemingly with a straight face, “I consider all of these people my friends.”

Gee, I wonder if Salma Hayek’s husband, you know Zillionaire Francois-Henri Perault was among those “important figures”.

Hmm.

You’ve read right. After worshiping the Latina beauty from afar as a Mexican empress, it turns out that Salma Hayek is actually a Colombian.

According to Latin American television station Nuestra Tele Noticias 24:

“Es probable que todos conozcamos a la estrella de cine mexicana Salma Hayeck. Pues ahora una tía suya y una prima que viven en el municipio del Guamo, Tolima en Colombia aseguran que la morena más seductora y consentida de Hollywood, nació en Bogotá Colombia. Ellos nos cuentan su historia, la de los parientes que se mueren por ella, pero no la han podido conocer.”

Well, that’s news to us, kinda like the type of mild shock that my prima got when she found out that Bárbara Mori her idol was not born in Mexico but in Uruguay. Oh, well. Salma, that fine mami, still reeks of Latinness anyway.

Mz. Salma Hayek, would you believe. While Lady Francois Periault is reportedly formulating an ageing cream, she’s saying no to surgical knives thank you very much. She told WEB MD:

“None of that. No peelings, either, I’ve not started that craze. Or tanning booths. What you see is what you get. I’ve been lucky. Maybe when the face starts falling apart, I’ll change my mind, but for now I think I’m fine.

“I think people who do things to their face age faster, I really do. And I’m lazy, so this suits me - I don’t like a lot of maintenance, and now I really don’t have time for it!”

It does make sense when you look at it. If you nip and tuck, pretty soon there’s not going to be any more skin to tuck.

Gee, Lady Periault, I see you share the same philosophy as your amiguita Penélope Cruz. Good for you Salma. We knew there was some sense in Hollywood, and most likely the estimated 18.9% good common sense that exists in that land is in you, my pretty.

In case you didn’t know, Salma’s second wedding to Francois-Henri Pinault is going down today ’cause when you’re among the famosos, one boda is never, ever enough.

But unlike other celebrities who have second weddings just for the sake of vanity, Salma has a good motive. Gossip Girls reports:

The “Desperado” hottie and her French billionaire initially made their union official at City Hall in Paris’ Sixth Arrondissement, but that ceremony was a bit rushed so that Hayek could return to the States to work on “30 Rock.”

Yesterday, the couple had a rehearsal dinner, but today is definitely going to be the big day at at the Pinault family’s marbled out castle Palazzo Grassi, which is where the couple met back in ‘06.

Salma has said that she won’t have a pimped-out wedding, but you know it’ll have some class and all the important things. She had told People magazine,

“I think a wedding is about love, friends, family and fun.”

Luis Miguel, Ashley Judd, Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Penélope Cruz are going to be among the invitados. Maybe they’ll be able to give us a good second-hand account later.

Some stars are seriously scared of aging. Not our chica Penélope Cruz. ¡No Señor! She may feel insecure about her acting career, but she’s all for getting old. The Spaniard told Cosmopolitan UK magazine:

“Age holds absolutely no fear for me. “Sophia [Loren] is 74 and amazing – every time I talk to her, she’s full of wonderful stories about old actors.”

Sure Penny. Sure. But if you change your mind, there’s always your BFF Salma Hayek’s beauty cream.
