Eva Longoria was among the many celebrities who came out to the Latin Grammys, the 10th Annual edition.

While the Latin Grammys were happening, one major Latino celebrity was absent, and that was our Shakira.

Shaki was in Europe that night, at the MTV Europe Awards, and boy did she rock the house!

Here she is chatting on the red carpet, prior to her awesome performance.

And what else went on during Latino celebrity week?

Well, some people swear that Pau doesn’t eat. Well, she was spotted doing just that at Da Silvano restaurant in New York with Colate.

Enrique Iglesias and David Bisbal were among the Latino celebrities who came out to support Juan Gabriel, as he was being given the Person of the Year Award by the Latin Recording Academy in Las Vegas.

Eva Mendes and her cute little mole showed up at the American Film Institute Fest in Los Angeles.

Luis Fonsi, a longtime benefactor of the St. Jude’s Hospital, was given the title of Celebrity Ambassador by the medical institution.

Lala Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony decided that marriage is not too far away. Somewhat far, but not too much.

Plenty of Latino celebrities came to the movie premiere of Precious, the Lee Daniels film, starring Mariah Carey.

Mario Lopez was the cover subject for Catalina Magazine’s latest issue.

With all the mirth that was going on in Latino celebrity week, there was also some bad news.

First, Jorge Vargas, considered by many to be one of the best actors of his generation, died at the age of 68 of complications following a colon cancer surgery. The actor’s son Ernesto D’Alessio and the rest of the family received the public’s outpouring love.

At least Mr. Vargas had a lustrous career starting with his first role in the novela Más Fuerte que tu amor as well as in others like La Otra, as well as the 1977 version of Corazón Salvaje.

But enough bad news.

Rumors ran rampant that William Levy and Maite Perroni were going to be in a play together, but it was eventually announced that Maite didn’t want the part, so former Miss Universe Alicia Machado Un amante a la Medida was more than happy to come alongside William.

And some naughty, naughty news.

Mario Cimarro has been accused of being a brute by more than one of his past co-stars. The latest person to complain about the bulky hunk? None other than his Mar de amor co-star Ninel Conde!

Ninel said that she was verbally abused and physically assaulted by Mario Cimarro on the set of the telenovela that they’re starring in together. Imagine El Bombón Asesino being roughed up by her leading man!

Mario had better register for some anger management classes, like, fast. Juan Zepeda, Ninel’s husband is surely not going to put up with that kind of behavior, and has made that known. Mario may be stronger, but Juancho just might have some unseen strenghts to surprise us all.

And what did Mario have to say for himself? He claims that oh, he was supposed to be rough in that scene, blah, blah, and there had been changes in the atmosphere that the script called for that Ninel wasn’t aware of.

Poor Ninel. This isn’t the first time the poor girl has been a victim of co-stars claiming that they were being physically rough with her for the sake of script realism. Remember this?

It was a wonderful Latino celebrity week, and what a week it was.

Are you going to be watching Sortilegio, the telenovela starring William Levy, Jacqueline Bracamontes, and produced by the incomparable superproducer Carla Estrada which begins airing tonight?

Sortilegio, the telenovela tells the story of Alejandro Lombardo a rather fine young man, who after an accident, is confronted by María José, a woman who claims to be his wife.

Only problem is, he doesn’t remember ever marrying her! Little by little he falls in love with her, not realizing that every aspects of his post-accident world (including his the so-called love of his wife) are staged by his half-brother Bruno, in attempt to get the fortune Alejandro’s father left.

Now if that isn’t a titilating plot, I don’t know what is.

But do we care about the plot, really? We just want to see the Papi Chulo Supreme William Levy and his beautiful, well-shaped lips.

Yeni and her beloved husband Bonescito were spotted jetting out of Miami. Just what business brought them there? I’m sure the fact that they have a financial stake in the football team The Miami Dolphins isn’t reason enough.

According to folks, Bonescito and Yenny were visiting the Sunshine State to put the finishing touches on a real estate transaction. They now own a luxury condo at the exclusive Icon South Beach Penthouse, spearheaded by developer Phillipe Starck. Thanks to the real estate bust, though, the condos were slow in selling, so folks are thinking that J.Lo and Bones probably got themselves a freebee.

Miami Herald columnist Lesley Abramavel thinks she knows the reason.

Clearly the couple has a thing for Philippe Starck, but rumor has it that developer Jorge Perez has more of a thing for having celebrity residents to boost sales of the troubled building and there may be some incentive stuff going on in this supposed deal.

The couple were seen schmoozing with Perez at the Viceroy at Icon Brickell several months ago.

Oh, if only I were rich and famous like those two and could get myself a crib gratis.

Juanes’s much-discussed concert in Cuba took place without a hitch, despite the fact that there were plenty of folks who opposed his musical initiative.

Miguel Bosé as well as Juanes actually started crying right before the concert! That’s how moved they were at the fact that Juanes’s dream had come true. That, and the stress of putting such a milestone of a show.

Elizabeth Gutiérrez finally admitted to the public that she was in fact pregnant with William Levy’s child. Oh, I can hear the unison of hearts that are broken around the globe.

Another Latin Lover is reportedly going to be a dad as well. Guess who?

So, this is how Latino Celebrity Week was! And what a week it was.

After months of speculation the most envied woman on the planet admitted that, yes, she’s expecting another child for fellow actor William Levy. She made this admission to the press while filming the remake of the Corazón Salvaje.

Now, Liz, that wasn’t so hard. Don’t you think that after a while we would have noticed?

This upcoming bundle of joy is going to be the couple’s second child after their son Christopher.

Now the William Levy-Elizabeth Gutiérrez bond will be stronger than ever.

El Bombón Asesino has one wish, that is to have Papi Chulo Supreme William Levy be her love interest in the video for her song “Mujeriego”.

But even she realizes that this might be hard to pull off. She told the Mexican entertainment TV show NExclusiva:

“No sé si nos alcance el presupuesto, además está tan cotizado, pero puede ser.”

Don’t you agree that she and William would be a good couple?

Rumors ran rampant that Elizabeth was expecting a follow-up to her son Christopher. But that is not the case, reports People en Español. The Mexican actress isn’t expecting William Levy’s second child!

An impostor who had been maintaining a page, and posing as the actress wrote on Elizabeth’s supposed webpage on the social networking site Facebook:

“Estoy embarazada y al parecer va a ser una niña que se va a llamar Keily. Gracias Dios por tantas pero tantas bendiciones”

But Reina Rojas, the representative for Elizabeth exposed the rumor and the fake Facebook page!

Wow, I wonder how this fake Elizabeth Gutiérrez must feel? Probably, he/she must feel like a bigger fraud than he/she already is.

They seemed like the perfect couple.

But it’s been announced that William Levy and Elizabeth Gutiérrez’s relationship is so very over.

Big Willy told TV Y Novelas:

“La verdad ahora ya no estamos más juntos. Sin embargo, nos sentimos tranquilos.”

Whoa! That’s sounds like a point of no return break-up.

They seemed like they had such a strong bond. And that everything from rumors that he was messing around with Jacqueline Bracamontes on the set of their new telenovela Sortilegio, and that’s a little bit after the rumors about him and Maite Perroni on the set of Cuidado con el Ángel started to cool down.

Elizabeth Gutiérrez has a full-fledged career. And so does William. William Levy got such a meteoric rise as a star, and I think the scrutiny from the press, both Mexican, U.S. and international just was too much for this cute pareja.

But I actually thought they had this stuff under control. Not too long ago, Will had told TV Y Novelas that he wanted to keep his personal life out of the Latin tabloids:

“Quiero que mi carera se base sólo en mi trabajo, y no en chismes.”

They have a little boy Christopher Levy. May they give love a chance!

As you all William Levites know, Sortilegio is going to be his next novela, and co-starring Jacqueline Bracamontes as his leading lady in the role of María José Samaniego Miranda.

¿Cómo es tu personaje?
“Se llama María José Samaniego. Es una chava de nivel socioeconómico bajo, que su máximo sueño es sacar adelante a su familia. Tiene una hermana y a su papá. y decidió salirse de estudiar para poder trabajar y mantener a los suyos, aunque también sueña como cualquier mujer y desea tener un galán, formar una familia. Entonces aparece un príncipe azul, que es el villano de la historia, se casan y ahí arranca este Sortilegio, porque gracias a esa villanía María José conoce al amor de su vida que es Alejandro (William Levy)”.

¿Cuál es el reto de este papel con respecto a los que has hecho?
“Es un papel muy difícil. Es una novela muy bien escrita por María Saratini. Me toca llorar como nunca, más que las anteriores telenovelas, porque María José siente mucha impotencia porque está amenazada y tiene que vivir una mentira, hacer como que está casada y por ello es que llega como intrusa a una familia de millonarios, siendo una mujer pobre. Vive un infierno, pero gracias a eso conoce a un gran amor”.

Like we care about character motivation, and all that stuff. We just want to have an excuse to see William Levy with someone, all the better to help us with the visualization of live vicariously as his mujer.

Carmen Villalobos, we hardly had the chance to miss ye, but sure enough you’re back or are about to be back in Telemundo’s latest sleazy telenovela (I say sleazy with all due compliments). Our comrades at Telenovelas Y Estrellas are already calling the novela a Latin version of “Beverly Hills 90210″, but we know that U.S. American T.V. can do it like Latin TV, baby!

Carmen is going to be teamed up yet again with Aylin Mujica (ooh, ooh, can’t wait to see her and her big old mole again) and Catherine Siachoque, her co-stars in Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso. At one point it was reported that some other actors were going to be cast on the show, but I guess things change.

What I really wanted to see was some more creative casting. Perhaps see Juan Alfonso Batista (or even my Cuban papacito William Levy) get cast with Carmen in a La Revancha remake or something, in any role where she gets to play a twin.

But noooooooooo, Telemundo just had to expand on its Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso elite school girl stuff. But then again, Telemundo, unlike Univision, has never really had a teen drama, not that I can remember anyway.

But let’s just hope that Mz. Carmen continues to remain humble, like she claims she is. I knew Telemundo was going to have her unlock, and cast her to death in telenovelas from now on, especially after the success of Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso>. You can’t say I didn’t tell you.
