Who do You Want to Play Sonia Sotomayor in a Movie? Jennifer Lopez or Rosie Perez
Jennifer Lopez swears it’s going to be her.
But then so does Rosie Perez.
This could be the role that Yeni has been looking for all her life, a biopic that will make folks who’ve criticized her acting over the years, especially that last turn in El Cantante.
But then Rosie has been acting for years, and other than a few independent awards and respect in the indie film community, she hasn’t never really gotten the visibility that her talent deserves.
Only one woman can win! Looks like Yeni may have a slight edge on Rosie though. A source quoted in The Houston Chronicle said:
“(Lopez) hosted a dinner party for Justice Sotomayor right after her confirmation. It was to butter her up because Lopez thinks a film about her life story would be huge.”
But between me and you, who do you think should play the first Latina Supreme Court Justice? Should it be J-Lo or should it be Rosie?

It will be a role in which she can really show how great an actress it is. I, for one, am ready to see her on more serious films rather than romantic comedies.
If Rosie gets the role I will see the movie just the same. Ms. perez is a fierce actress with incredible tour-de-force!

I was so disappointed in that film - it was completely negative and didn’t show the amazing history that was made by Hector! Now, Rosie did an excellent job on Pa Que Tu Lo Sepas. She knows how to portray Boricuas in a positive light - she’s an Oscar nominated actress - yes she has that voice - but she has the calibur that JLO doesn’t.
